JOB DESCRIPTION: Residential Treatment Workers and Bank/Relief Workers

1. Rotating shifts to cover evenings and weekends 5pm till 9am including sleep-in.

Salary:  Waking rate is £9.00 per hour for hour 5-11pm and 7-9am  
              
 
              Sleep-in rate is £50 for hours 11pm-7am
               

              Meals included.

 
2. Weekends: 9am-5pm                              

     Salary: Hourly rate £9.00 per hour

     Lunch included

Main Duties and Responsibilities  

To be available to residents for support and to facilitate evening recovery group.
 
To support clients in their activities of daily living. 
To support clients in adhering to any medication requirements. 
To accompany clients to AA/NA recovery meetings.     
To be fluent in record-keeping, appreciate confidentiality, awareness of data protection and participate in handovers, staff meetings and any appropriate training. 
To be available for supervision. 
To be on call in case of emergency during ‘sleep-ins’.  

Personal requirements

Educated to degree level or equivalent is desirable, preferably in
Counseling or a related discipline/or working towards. Accreditation with FDAP would be an advantage. 
At least 2 years’ experience in working with people experiencing addiction mental health difficulties. Personal recovery would be an advantage and the requirement is at least 2 years.  
Experience of working with addicted Healthcare Professionals would be an advantage/ or willingness to learn. 
To have completed a medication management certificate is desirable. 
A working knowledge of the use of interventions proven to be beneficial, for example Brief Interventions such as Motivational Enhancement Therapies (MET) and the 12-step approach. 
To be able to work effectively as a lone worker with a client group with challenging needs. 
To be able to establish clear professional boundaries in their work with staff and clients.
Excellent telephone/verbal communication skills and a non judgemental and flexible approach towards client care.
High degree of self awareness.  
Knowledge of current approaches in treating substance misuse problems.  Knowledge of the problems associated with the use of illicit drugs and alcohol.
To be reliable and punctual. Have a clean UK driver’s licence.      

Leave
 Annual leave 20 days plus statutory Bank holidays.

 The post is subject to completion of a police check at enhanced disclosure.
